Check-in Day

We took Dallin to the MTC today.  Given the cases of Swine Flu, we were not allowed to go with him into the MTC.  It was very organized and very much like dropping off a passenger at the airport, curbside.

So, we did not have any time to take pictures at the MTC, so we left Cath's sister's place and went to the Draper temple.  We have attached a few of these for your enjoyment.

We came to a series of "Happy Helpers" that directed us to a line up where a Sister and an Elder were waiting anxiously to take our "package".  The Sister checked Dallin in and the Elder grabbed his luggage and was going to be his guide into the building to get settled in.

After some tearful hugs, we saw him on his way to officially start his mission.

We are happy, but sad at the same time.  For us the "clock" has started.  Cath said that we only have 24 more Fast Sundays to go!

We have Dallin's address here:

Aaron Dallin Grimm
MTC Mailbox # 336-H24
Helsinki, Finland Mission
2005 N 900 E
Provo, UT 84604-1793

I am sure that he will appreciate letters.  In fact, he wanted us to be sure we told everyone to send lots of letters!

  1. Cathleen, what a great way to look at it- 24 fast sundays doesn't sound bad at all!! Much better than two whole years :) Dallin will be such an awesome missionary. And the swine flu epidemic will make the drop off at the MTC so much more memorable!

  2. Way to go Dallin!! I think it makes it easier. Whoever thought going through that whole presentation then having the parents leave one door while the missionaries stand there crying was a good idea. You will be so busy the next little while you probably won't notice until you only have 20 fast Sundays left. (let's hope)
